The CSF 8221 is a dual-core transmission oil cooler for ZF eight-speed automatic S58 BMW M2, M3 and M4 applications. Two stacked 22mm cores provide 44mm of combined core thickness.
CSF specifies 1,700mL of internal cooler volume versus 875mL for the original cooler. It mounts with either the factory front heat exchanger or CSF 8215, retaining the original oil-line connections and seals.

Will the 8221 work with the factory heat exchanger?
Yes. CSF lists compatibility with the factory heat exchanger as well as its 8215 upgrade.
Is this for manual-transmission M cars?
No. This cooler is for the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission oil circuit.
Does the larger internal volume mean I add exactly that amount of fluid?
No. Cooler volume describes the component. Final transmission fluid level must be established using the procedure and temperature requirements for the vehicle.
