The CSF 8042 is an aluminum oil cooler whose job depends on the E9X M3 transmission: it cools transmission oil on the DCT car and engine oil on the six-speed manual application.
Its dual-pass, 22mm microtube core has 11 cooling tubes. The original mounting position, oil-line connections and attaching shroud are retained. Identifying the circuit matters when planning a complete M3 cooling package: this part does not perform the same job on both transmission configurations.

Is this the main engine coolant radiator?
