Paragon PPS1726 titanium brake pad shims fit BMW G87 M2 / G80 M3 / G82 M4 using the front brake application listed below. They sit between the pad backing plate and caliper pistons to limit heat transfer into the caliper and brake fluid.

How titanium shims help

Titanium’s low thermal conductivity makes the shim a thermal barrier between a hot brake pad and the caliper piston. This supports heat management during repeated braking, alongside suitable pads, rotors and fresh brake fluid. It does not change pad compound or replace the need for adequate cooling.

Before installation

Factory M Compound iron brakes; does not fit the factory carbon-ceramic pad shape. Confirm the backing-plate outline and piston-contact area. Account for the additional 0.5mm thickness per shim, and check pad movement and available clearance during installation. These shims are not a universal fit based on vehicle model alone.

This shim is for the factory iron-brake pad shape and does not fit the OEM carbon-ceramic pad shape.

Inspect brake-fluid condition and the complete braking system before track use. Have the work completed by a qualified installer.

Product FAQs

What is included with PPS1726?

A set of four 0.5mm Grade 5 titanium shims for one axle.

Will these shims fit my calipers?

Factory M Compound iron brakes; does not fit the factory carbon-ceramic pad shape. Match the shim outline to the pad backing plate and confirm installation clearance.

Do titanium shims prevent all brake fade?

No. They limit heat transfer at the pad-to-piston interface. Pad temperature range, rotor cooling and brake-fluid condition still matter.
